I'm going to see The Boss at Old Trafford on 28th May. Any Man U regulars or others with ideas on parking in the area? Gates open at 16.00 show starts 17.30 on a wednesday. Memory says there is an industrial estate near by. Happy to walk a couple of miles. Returning on M6 South. Thanks.

As a local - I'd say head for Seymour Grove (M16) and either park for free in one of the residential streets off there, or one of the unofficial Pay Car Parks you'll pass - the closer to Old Trafford you get the more people in Hi-Viz will be trying to wave you into forecourts etc along the way!
It's easy for M6 - come off at J19, take the A556 then M56 and continue until it becomes the A5103 towards central manchester (watch the 40mph limit!)
Take a left onto the A5145 and keep going straight, don't turn off, go through Chorlton (which is a good place to stop for lunch or a drink) Keep going straight after Chorlton and after about a mile you're on Seymour Grove. The closer to Chorlton you park the longer the walk - but the shorter the traffic jam after!

If you get there early, there are some nice bars/gastropubs on Beech Road in Chorlton if you like your bars a bit bohemian.
