|Is the dealer a BMW one VB ? That one posted above will have a cast iron BMW Warranty with it.

Dealer is an authorised Mercedes "repairer" but will offer a "Prestige" warranty

Yeah, had a look at this one, thanks for the link. Some differences, cloth interior instead of leather & is a manual rather than an an auto, perhaps this accounts for being a grand less. Oh, and yes, I'm near Sheffield, a bit easier to get to.

You would have to be mad to spend this sort of money on an E36!
|
Don't think it's a 'mad' buy, I had one for years and it was a very good drive. Leather, eetc. do make a difference to the price and as always with BMs, Mercedes, etc. make a considerable difference in the saleability and therefore price.
Watch out for broken rear springs, not a huge expense, but an ongoing issue. Suspension rubbers can wear, watch out for knocks and thumps when test driving and adjust price as appropriate. Might be a bit overpriced, see above, it does depend on service history and options.

I'm not saying its a bad car, far from it, just that £10k is a frankly laughable price to pay - it's not even a 328i.
My old Mondeo was a great car - I wont hear a bad word said about it but that doesnt make that worth 10 grand, either.
You have your choice of 328i Sport and M3 Evolution Cabrios for WELL south of £10k so why spend £10k on an 323i thats 10 years old with cloth seats? It just seems utterly ridiculous.

That was my gut feeling as well - I'm sure it's lovely, but it seems heinously overpriced.
One of my colleagues bought his other half a 1998 E36 M3 Evo SMG cabrio with 89k and FBMWSH recently for £6800 (advertised at £7k) and that was from a dealer, with a warranty.
If you want to spend £10k, you'll have a choice of cherished, sub 60,000 mile M3 soft tops.
Cheers
