06 2.0 front wheel problems, possibly bearings. - volvos60T5SE
Hi there, I have a scenic 2.0 Turbo, recently, there has been a rumbling noise from the front end when moving. The N/S front wheel was being scrubbed on the outside. I swapped the two front wheels round N/S onto O/S and vice versa, as i believed that the scrubbing was being caused by a buckled alloy. Much to my annoyance, the N/S wheel, now with the O/S wheel on it, is scrubbing the same and there is no difference at all in the rumbling noise, i suspect a wheel bearing may be the culprit, any ideas?
Cheers

Yes or the cv joint.

Is there more noise on corner's? or just the straight?

yeh, it gets slightly worse when cornering, but only appears to do it on some road surfaces, the front tyres are due to be renewed, so im going to see if its one of them being noisy,

Try this:

- turn towards the suspicious wheel and if the noise becomes quieter or disappears than it's likely that it's a bearing. Try to find some long curve where you can pick up some speed.
- if you turn in the opposite direction the noise should get worse.
