I think you'll find that Peter Alliss' plate is PUT 3 - a touch of self irony on the part of the great golf commentator (and one-time top golf professional).

Many years ago I saw "A 147 HIT" on a car round the back of the Sheffield Crucible while the snooker was on. Can't remember what car it was (might have been a Jag but it escapes me)..

Try reading the plate out quickly as one word. There's another reason it has that combination in, but I can't say it without breaching the owner's privacy.
