Peugeot 206 hatchback (1998 - 2006) - 00 1.4 Dodgy indicator & now rev counter packed up

00 1.4 Dodgy indicator & now rev counter packed up - Cosec
Hi all

This is my first post, although I have been reading for some time. My wife's 206 has suddenly developed a problem. When starting the car, the indicators flash a couple of times, and now this problem is starting to occur randomly whilst driving.

Also, yesterday the rev counter packed up, although apparently the speedo is still working.

Sounds like dodgy French electrics, but it is an otherwise exremely reliable car. Any ideas, or suggestions as to how to fix?

A dodgy indicator stalk is a known weak point and several 206's have had them replaced under warranty. A colleague had a 4 year old 206 indicator stalk replaced free by peugeot dealer but a 7 - 8 year old car maybe they won't. I guess it will not be too costly to replace.
Rev counter maybe sender unit on engine or fault in instrument panel, but hopefully someone with direct experience can give more advice.
