2005 - rattling exhaust - pointlesspoints
Having just bought an 05 Mazda 6 to transport the little ones around in. The exhaust rattles at low speed the dealer, non franchised , says this is normal i think this could be the cat

The exhaust didn't rattle on my 05 Mazda 6.
When is the first MOT due ?

Is it just an internal rattle ? Or is it rattling against the bodyshell - perhaps a mounting has broken ?
Mazda used to have some sort of offer regarding MOTs at their franchised dealers - it may be worthwhile getting that MOT done early by a Mazda dealer and ask them to check the exhaust.

Not sure if its internal or touching body work. It only happens at low revs when pulling off from standing. The car had its first mot and passed with flying colours.

If its only at low revs/pulling away, it may be a loose heat shield.
