Just wondered if anyone knew what was going on around Junct 23 /22 M6 southbound about 6.45 this evening? I was passed by an unmarked black Skoda Octavia estate at warp speed with the "behind grille" blues on. About three minutes later an unmarked grey Vectra hatch with wig wags on ( no blues ) also came howling past. Neither seemed interested in stopping anyone.

You might be right ! Actually, speaking of celebrities, coming out of Glasgow this afternoon I was alongside a very nice Scaglietti in metallic grey heading south on the M74. The last three characters of the private reg plate were "WHO". Can't be sure but the speed at which it took off when the traffic cleared would suggest someone used to the acceleration of a Tardis. Looked enough like him actually.
Great sound as it hared off !

Most days I drive along London Road heading towards the Gorbals. Hate the traffic lights, minimum wait of two changes on every set of lights!
Thats why I changed to pedal bike last summer, much easier to bump up onto the pavement at each set of lights. It fair gets the adrenaline going when you are on the road and two lines of vehicles are overtaking you, slowly nudging you closer to the pavement and all the potholes!
But I get a buzz when I realise that over the 4 miles, I am actually quicker!

Its even better on foot. Due to a parking issue at work I often walk to and from. I outpace the traffic most nights.

I was going home, M62/60/62/6 about 6:30 ish and I was passed by a Saab 9.5, flasihng headlights and sirens, heading round the M60 in the direction of the M62, then by Merc of the same fashion, then at Croft I was passed by another Saab that carried on down the 62 in the direction of Liverpool - all single manned. Something happening somewhere, but I doubt we'll get to know.

Actually bora, I might have been slightly further north ( not sure ) in which case they could have turned off for Liverpool. Hmmmm.

Last week I got held up for a few minutes near Datchet on the way from Old Windsor to Slough.... had to leave shorty (delete) Sarkozy past. A big entourage.
Seriously for the French leader, he looked very official and handsome as they went past. His wife, the model, was nearer and was on the phone.
Now back to motoring was this route from Datchet/Windsor to London centre the most efficient? I am not sure. But he may have been in the Windsor Farm Shop just before I saw them.

Nothing of note on the local news, but that is rather more plain clothes cars than I see in a month or two. If I were to mention this in the office, most peoples response would be to ask if there was a happy hour deal at MacD's that ended at 7pm ;-)

Soon - there's no Soon about it, they've been using them for years. I see them overflying the M6 every day, but they are very cunningly disguised - you can only see that they are black when the sun is behind them.
I'm going to have to be careful about saying any more, as BT are probably monitoring this thread ;-)

Speaking of strange occurences, late yesterday afternoon I saw an oldish (mid 80s model) VW people carrier type thing coming up the A5 in warwickshire doing around 40 mph and closely followed by 2 police outriders on bikes but with no blues on. It then went around the roundabout and doubled back into a small market town called Atherstone where I followed it to the bus station before I turned off...
The only thing I could think of was it might have been something to do with MIRA which is based 2 miles down the road but I've never seen them do anything like that before.
