Shocking for all those involved especially the poor witnesses on the ground.
RIP David Leslie - DP
I was saddened to read that one of the victims of yesterday's tragic plane crash in Farnborough Kent was David Leslie, Vauxhall, Honda and Nissan driver from the "glory days" of BTCC in the 90's.

Of course we should be thankful for the miraculous fact that nobody on the ground died. Such a shame to hear of his passing though. I remember many good scraps between him and the likes of John Cleland and Tim Harvey in what was for a time, the most closely fought, most car wrecking, and most fiercely competitive circuit racing anywhere in the world IMO.

RIP.

DP - ditto Richard Lloyd - 20 years or so before David Leslie. I used to watch him in the late 70s in his Golf GTi winning in the saloon car championships, always outbraking and outcornering cars that were bigger and faster (in a straight line). I later became a customer of his company GTI Engineering when I had them upgrade the suspension on my GTi to what they called "half race." I never met him but one of his technicians took me for a very fast and memorable blat round the back roads of Silverstone in their demo GTi. If I could have any one of my many previous cars back it would be that one.
