Looking to change current factory fit 16" alloys to 17" alloys
Will this be a problem, Physicaly or affect the MPH reading
any thoughts - opinions welcome.

To check the effect on the speedo, here's the sum
Radius(mm)=(rim_size*25.4/2)+(tyre_width*aspect_ratio/100)
e.g. 205/60 R15 to 205/55 R16
Radius1=(15*25.4/2)+(205*60/100)
Radius1 =
313.5000
Radius2=(16*25.4/2)+(205*55/100)
Radius2 =
315.9500
By carefully choosing the new aspect ratio, it's possible to make the change in radius small enough to be negligible (bearing in mind that new tread to old tread can change the radius by 7 or 8 mm anyway!)
Physically, you're replacing rubber with metal, which tends to stiffen things up. My own view is that considering the state of the roads, this is a change in the wrong direction, but that's your call.

The question is why change?
X-trail SEs had 16" wheels - SVE & Aventuras 17" but apart from cosmetic there is no real difference.
I'd keep my money and buy myself something else that I needed!

Best to find some good second hand original nissan wheels.
If you look at the tyre pressure chart on your door shut it should tel you the tyre size for the 17" wheels.

I have an SVE and they were/are fitted with 16" wheels
Yes the reason is "cosmetic" I enjoy customising my car
There is more choise of 17" than 16" for some reason?
