Hi, does anyone know the name of the grey paint on the lower half of the doors on the Rover 216 range 89-96?

Hi I think it was called Tempest grey 2.

There is more than 1 shade.
Check the vin plate for colour code, then a factor who deals with paint for the colour name

Quest is right - Tempest Gret, but Yorkie is also correct - the paint code will confirm.
If you can post the paint code, I'll *probably* be able to tell you for sure.

Pop into Halfords and look at the paint code lists on the spray paint shelves.

The code was REA.
I ended up going to Halfords and using Tempest Grey, which was a pretty good match. I'm not sure if it was the right one or not though.
I did get some info from a company:
'The colour is called Japan black matt.
Hi Trevor The code REA is a dual code which breaks down to UME which is carribean blue andpmq which is the Japan. It might be called black but is grey. There is blackviolet and white in the formulation so it will be a grey. '
I didn't fancy taking a chance on a grey that was called 'Japan matt black'!
Be interesting to know if it was the right info though.
