2004 CDTi air blower is only working on speed 4 - pollykitten
Since my Vectra went in for its first MOT/SERVICE in Oct last year my air blower in the car is playing up. It has recently only able to blow air into my car on 4. Sometimes it will work on 1,2,3 but only when my outside temp is over 6. lso recently it has devoloped a sickly smell, Please help im desperate.

From memory it sounds like the motor blower resistor has failed - not a big job to replace (taking the glovebox out). Either that or the heater control panel has packed up - again not a massive job but go for a second hand replacement as the dealers want around £95 for one.

Check www.vectra-c.com forums for more info - seems to be fairly common

Sounds like the resistor pack has failed. You have to remove the glovebox to access and change it.

sounds like resistor pack failed also check bulkhead drian for blockages.Open bonnet look under pollen filter flap poke along screwdriver in the rubber grommet and watch the water run out!
