Dog and Bike - JAR
My wife's a keen cyclist, and has now bought a border collie. Any suggestions for any make or model into which she can throw either without dismantling? (The bike, not the dog!)

The new Corsa can be ordered woth a very neat integrated single bike carrier which slides out from under the rear bumper.

Berlingo / Doblo / Kangoo etc will fit the criteria

Roomster !

Has a floor mounted racking system for bikes (optional extra). Takes two dogs with the back seats out.

Vauxhall Zafira with the seats out - room for the bike and a couple of cages for the dogs (assuming you secure the dogs when they're in the car and don't let them loose like potential projectiles)

Fit a tow bar and use a ball mounted rack very cheap and saves the insidee of the car.

Attach the lead to the tow ball I suppose..... ;-)

Unfortunately, this brings back memories! - of when i was working on the farms in my youth.
One hot day, we had just rounded up and penned about 300 sheep for dosing, having done with the dog for the time being, the farmer tied it with baler-twine, to the tow-ball of the landrover instead of shutting it up inside. A couple of hours later, we had about 30ish sheep left to dose and check, but we ran out of dose, so (you've guessed it) the farmer jumped in the landrover and went to get some, completely forgetting that "rover" who'd gone to sleep in the shade underneath was still attached.
No amount of shouting or waving by myself and the other lad who was helping could make him hear us, and the last we saw of them that day was as they dissappeared over the hill towards the road.
The sad thing is that poor Rover not being able to run at 40mph, didn't see his tea that night.

I know this is the wrong place to say such things, but does she need a car? I saw a cyclist a little while ago with a large platic tray secured to his pannier rack on the back, and in the plastic tray, looking very pleased with it's morning out in the sun, sat his border collie. Seemed a nice compact way of moving dog and bike together :)

I saw someone a couple of months back with a dog trotting alongside the bike and accached by the lead. Dog and cyclist both seemd quite happy although the road was quiet at the time.

Policeman knocks on house door and says to Lady, "Neighbours have reported your dog chasing a man on a bicycle". "Won't be our dog", says the Lady, "She can't ride a bike".

Makes you gag, doesn't it !
