please HELP!!! Registering new car paperwork.... - Machina
Ok, I bought a used car last october (5 months ago) Rang DVLA 1 month back as I had a niggling feeling to see if it was registered in my name. It wasn't. (lazy dealer never sent off slip I gather).

So...DVLA on phone said to register, I must go directly to my local DVLA office (Sidcup), and take with me these things;

V62
V10
V5C/2
Insurance Cert.
MOT

Ok, now I read the V62...and I gather I will not need this as I have (and written my details) the V5C/2 -New Keepers Supplement.
Or am I wrong, and will I need to fill in a V62 and a V10?
Or just a V10?

I'm so confused...really not into paperwork.

I have a terrific idea! Speed past a few safety cameras, park on some double yellow lines and drive into the London Cengestion zone a couple of times. The idle dealer will get a blizzard of tickets which should concentrate his mind a treat. I'm not into paperwork either so I can't suggest anything more sensible!

I don't know how convenient or otherwise Sidcup is for you, but I found my local DVLA staff helpful and surprisingly customer friendly. Take whatever documents you have along with you and get it sorted.

the DVLA local office will have blank copies of all the forms you'll need - just take all you have and don't worry. As noted above the staff are usually helpful and friendly.
