My my reckoning, at £7 an hour, to earn £25,000 you'd have to work 70 hours a week, 52 weeks a year.

And I'm no agricultural expert, but I think you'd be hard-pressed to find crops to pick every week of the year.

They go from crop to crop and when not picking they are on warehouse duties.

I have seen this population grow up around my ears in the last 2 years. Jobs out there we as nationals do not want to do (rcall the 60's when we brought labour from overseas?) is being snapped up again. Go in to any food chain (McDonalds etc) and just see what the work force consists of.

No this is not a racial issue I am raising here - it is an issue of UK nationals (the youth of today) that refuses to undertake such work as that completed by eager Polish etc., people now coming to the UK.

Poles etc., earn the average of a few pounds er hour back home - here they can earn several with better working conditions and hours (save for veggie picking).
