windscreen washers pump working but no water - Peter C
My windscreen washer electric pump is working but no water is coming out of the jets. What should I look for?

windscreen washers pump working but no water - midlife - what crisis?
Probably caused by sediment or scum in the washer bottle blocking the filter to the pump. HJ's recommended method is to put a hose down the filler neck and flush this out. I had a Rover 75 which has a plastic insert cast in the filler neck (presumably to stop large items falling in) so I had to use a very small bore plastic pipe to syphon the water and gunge out repeatedly but got there in the end, so be patient if you have to resort to this. Otherwise could be blocked jets or a kinked hose leading to the jets under the bonnet

remove pump (push fit) remove rubber filter where pump go's into bottle and you will find the filter covered in slime/gunk, flush washer bottle out with hot water, clean filter and reasemble

But still no reply to the email that I sent you (9th March) asking for the year so that I could edit it into the subject line.
