Noticed in the 29th Feb Best Deals article, DtD have 3dr CZ1 Colt at £7239.
Yet Mitsubishi's own price (special offer, but seems never ending) is £6999 and my local dealer has been advertising them for at least a year for £5999.

Dealers in the north west have had these at £5k on and off over the last two years, and they are nearly always available at my local dealers for £6k.

I drove a Mitsubishi Colt Blue special edition for a year, which is the same as the CZ1 1.1 petrol but with some added extras and it was a great car if slightly noisy, the engine was amazingly flexible for its size and it was very easy to drive. I reckon you can't go wrong at £5k for a new one, although the special eds with nice paint and some alloys look much better :-)

Can you tell me who is selling them at £5k? The best I have seen is £6k for a new one.

Where have you seen it at 6K?

They were widely advertised by dealers at £5999, inc at the dealer in my area, Gallaghers.
However they're now advertising £6499 as the lowest price, but that's for the Colt "Sport". I'm not sure that's an official model - it seems to be a dealer special. From the limited info on the dealers website it appears to be a 3dr CZ1 and a spoiler on the rear hatch.

Mitsubishi are also still doing their 3yr servicing package for £150, which is useful saving of probably £350+ as Mitsubishi servicing isn't exactly cheap.

Gallagher's is my local dealer too, but it was a Gallaghers somewhere out in Cheshire that had them for £5k. I think I mentioned it in a previous thread, but couldn't find it when I searched just now.
I have had the new Colt as a courtesy car and found it small (especially the boot) and a bit tinny, but excellent value at around £6k (though better still at £5k..) I think HJ mentioned that there had been an oversupply at one point last year so that is why they were so cheap.
My local Gallagher's (Ashley, Altrincham) had a newspaper advert this week for brand new Lancer's at £7999 - not sure if there is a new shape and these are the old ones. I have recently got rid of my 2000 Carisma and I know both the Carisma and Lancer are dull as anything, but they are great value cars. If you are keen to buy new and if you don't mind keeping them a fair while to balance out the depreciation, you could have a lot of trouble-free motoring for £8k. Be worth nowt when you sell it though (as I found out when I part-exxed my Carisma).

A bit off topic, but a local Peugeot dealer also had an advert for 07 reg 307 S 1,4 16v 5 door's at £7, 495. I thought this was pretty cheap too (reckoned £6,320 off list price, though I know no one pays list price). I wondered if the credit crunch is starting to bite in the used car market already or if it is just that time of year.
The only new car we ever bought was a Colt in about 1997 - £8k and that was considered a good deal. You can get a lot of car for your money these days - a shame petrol and insurance cost so much.

I Googled "Colt Blue" yesterday and came up with a very interesting item of gentlemen's apparel.
