Good VAG garage recommendation - aah for starters
Can anyone recommend a good independent VAG specialist in the Derby area, my A8 has a couple of small oil leaks and an Audi dealer has just quoted my stupid money to fix.

I have not used them but I see plenty of VW's with sunset garage stickers in them - presumably from satisfied owners - they are on parcel terrace or there is a german independent at the (allenton) end of ascot drive - they seem to get alot of premium german motors in their car park on a daily basis.
The premises look very professional as well - I get th eimpression it is owned by someone interested in customer care.
As I say though - I have not tried these places myself.

Sunset VW on Parcel Terrace in Derby are a brilliant firm.
I have used them to service and put a new cam belt and water pump on my Passat. My son uses them to service his Audi and I have recommended them to several friends with VW cars. All have been satisfied and pleased with the work.
He uses original parts and the garage is spotless.
I have no connection with Sunset VW, only as a very satisfied customer. (Which makes a change from my usual experiences.)

You could always e-mail HJ to add them to the "Good Garage" guide.

Although not a VW specialist, I have been happy with my dealings with Service Garage in Borrowash. They have been very fair with MOTs, and they did a good job of re-conditioning the injectors of the E300D.

Sticky at top of discussions takes you to

which says: "Good Garage Guide has an excellent search mechanism.
And if you have a favourite garage that isn't in, e-mail ianwelch@honestjohn.co.uk "

Thanks for that, I searched when the OP asked the question. It would be useful if these garages are as good as posters say that they add them to the database.

I'll vote for C and R too, one of the best independants in the country with a wealth of VAG knowledge :o

A bit further north. JBS, Chesterfield. Near National Tyres.Excellent servicing and repairs.
Careful of the interesting loan cars though.

Brilliant, thanks very much everyone for the recommendations. At least I've got a few options rather than make Audi Uk even more wealthy

If you are able to travel to Congleton in Cheshire, Votex are a very good VAG specialist.

I didn't realsie there were so many BR's in the Derby area.
We could create our own branch of HJ's Br's - The Rams division !

Or should that be Rams chapter.

My sons have season tickets for the Rams, sometimes I go. It's terrible, they get beaten nearly every week, the players are hopeless.
Robbie Savage cost £1,500,000 and is on about £30,000 per week, he recently turned up for training in a new £150,000 Merc painted in black and white (motoring link). It didn't go down very well with some of the other players. He was dropped at the weekend for the Sunderland match (0-0).

When I used to go regularly we had wonderful players like Kevin Hector, Colin Todd and Roy MacFarland. We won the 1st division twice!

Up the Rams!!!!!
