There would be no possible advantage in fitting a chav airfilter anyway; so save yourself the time, money and engine wear.

The air filter is the big box, about the size of a shoe-box.

looking on the engine on my 1,9 diesel turbo. i see on the right hand side, low down a box at the bottom with a open pipe near the radiator and after the pipe goes in the box goes to the back of the intercooler.
is this the air filter.
thanks

to fit a k&n on a 1.9td, you need to cut the pipe to the airbox just before it bends down near the battery tray, as has been previously said it's a waste of time on a turbo diesel. if your really after any sort of induction noise then drill the standard box, but the reality is you will not change the induction noise of a diesel, it's one of the things you'll have to live with. if you really need to do something then do a google search for a stage one tune for a 306

Waste of time and money!!!

Save the money (and the dumpvalve idea) and take the car to somewhere like Dervdoctor for a tuneup. Should release a genuine 10-20 bhp extra and make the car faster all through the rev range.
Or sell it and buy a car that was meant to be fast in the first place...
cheers
