I didn't see it happen, but another rider of one of these rapid modern semi-scooter things came off on the same corner outside the house where the rider of a stolen scooter hit a turning car, fell off and scarpered just a few weeks ago prompting a post from me. The rider was lying in the carriageway attended by concerned passers-by, some on their mobiles. He moved an arm so was alive.
The ambulance took a good five minutes to arrive, perhaps ten. The traffic built up a bit because one carriageway was blocked. Plod, who are only five minutes away down the road, only two with full blues and twos, arrived five minutes after the ambulance, donned hi-vis and started to direct the traffic.
The medics took their time as they always do. Eventually they had the guy half naked and with wires on him. When they took his boots off he yelled very loudly, so I guess has a broken leg. I hope nothing worse.
The scooter was still parked on the single yellow at the end of my block last time I looked, not apparently badly damaged (as the stolen one was).
An everyday passing event in central London.
