SWMBO sent me this link which is a good way to test your reaction times as a driver ..

The best I have managed so far is bobbing bobcat ....Be warned - its addictive.

0.1638 average on 3rd go - rocketing Rabbit.

Was a bobblng bobcat until then, but got lucky & anticipated one that only 'cost' 0.00 secs. (according to it) Maybe I exhibited pre-cognition?

"Rocketing Rabbit" with 0.1994 average.

Incredibly, four of my five shots were all within 3/1000ths of each other at 0.185 - 0.188. The 0.250 destroyed the average though. :-(

Cheers

I've put the kettle on....
Reaction Times - Group B
I've just scraped a rocketing rabbit as I somehow got a freakish 0.062, making the average 0.198. Before that I was very consistently average!
On one go I got all five times within 0.001s of each other, all 0.249s and 0.250s.

I'm going to try this again tonight after I've had half a bottle of wine and a couple of pints, and see how much it slows me down.

From the results so far it looks like unless you get a 'freakish' (and by that I mean anticipatory hit) the human physiology WRT nervous response is pretty consistent across the (admittedly limited sample) range. A BBC2 Horizon programme about 'decision making' processes in humans recently, suggested some near-future decisions can sometimes be anticipated (quoting some quantum physics related explanation in the process) - maybe this reaction-test site would throw up some interesting results.

0.23 sec average.

But I think I'd be slower shooting tranquilizer darts if I had to steer the car at the same time :-)
