2002 1.9dci - funny sound - chungoi
i have a renault laguna privalige 1.9dci on a 52 plate .the problem is when i set off it sounds like i have a hole in the exhaust.but at ideling no sound.Took it to garage he said he could not find anything wrong with it.i have read about turbo probs,no black smoke coming out of exhaust,no flat spot anyone help

Difficult with renaults due to their poor electrics but I would look at the EGR valve best replaced if faulty but can be cleaned with carb cleaner.

I would look at the intercooler and turbo pipework. Also the alternator clutch can make a strange noise when it's on the way out. You might find the noise changes when you turn the headlights on and the alternator is under load.
