Just thought on the way in to work, why don't they use the camera vans to issue tickets for defective lights, fog lights on when not required, using mobile phone in car, etc as well as speeding?

No additional coat (apart from the labour) and might sort some of these things out!

If they really had got it in for the motorist they would be doing it already!

This already exists, it's some new system they can rewind and playback, and issue tickets accordingly.
