I have an intermittant problem with the electrics when its cold and raining and the wipers and heaters are on the voltmeter drops right down and when i come to the vehicle it won.t start only to come back to life a day later.
i have replaced the wiper motor as when it stuck once it caused the voltage to drop and the alternater is quite new.
please help its driving(well not driving) me mad.

looks like an alternator problem to me

Is the fanbelt tight enough? Does the charge light come on and go out as normal?

Earthing could well be an issue on a vehicle of this construction. Without some measurements taken under various conditions and the results, it's difficult to give a really helpful response. Do you have a good multimeter and a wiring diagram?

if the problem only occurs when it,s wet i,d get busy with the WD40 around all the exposed wiring connections.

get yourself a cheap digi multimeter...they can be had for £5-10
set it to volts..and take a reading on the battey when its standing...should be around 12.4volts, much under 12.2 and it could do with a trickle charge , if that doesnt boost it then have a motorist shop test it
now start the car and put the headlights, heater and accesories all full on , idealy you want to see 13.5-14.4volts to prove the alternator is good, check the belt is tight and all the leads are free from corrosion etc
next job...set the meter to amps
take of the postive terminal on the battery and connect one of the multimeter leads to the battery post and the other to the battery lead. make sure the interior light is off and observe the reading...you can then go around pulling the fuses/plugs fone by one for stuff like that wiper motor you suspect and see if the drain reading drops
the only item that should be taking a little are the radio memory and clock
EDIT misread your post ...i see that it comes back to life the next day, id check all the battery/earth leads and maybe replace them, motorist shops have ready made cables that should suit, clean up where they bolt to the chassis and grease up the bolts after youve tightened em
