Spare wheel lock - catcher
My daughter has recently bought a Peugeot 306. (She lives quite a distance away so I've not seen the car yet). When I mentioned the potential problem of the spare wheel being stolen on this model she told me it wasn't a problem as there was a sticker on the back saying it had a lock fitted. She wasn't sure how this worked and neither am I. Can anyone please tell me how they do work so I can pass it on.

Thanks

I used to have one of these. The lock is basically a long bolt through the boot floor that has to be removed before the wheel will drop down. It can only be turned from inside the boot, using the wheelbrace.
It saved my spare when someone tried to cut through the wheel carrier.

Thanks for your reply Alastair. That's clear - the bolt will hold the wheel irrespective of the wheel carrier.
