406 water ingress

406 water ingress - Pat
Has anyone experienced water leaking into the spare wheel well of a 406 saloon? Despite application of garden hose etc I can't find the source of entry. Rear light cluster seals and boot lid seal all look ok. Anyone got any ideas?

I have no experience of the 406 leaks but sunroof drain tubes is something common on many vehicles that springs to mind.

Maybe my memory is going but I seem to recall reading somewhere that the light cluster can be a problem and its a real beggar to find and prove it as the source of the leak.

I thought this was something discussed either way back in the archive or maybe in a long term test probably in Diesel Car.

Search under "cluster" in the archives.
There are two threads which will come out at the top relating to leakage on rear light clusters (on Mondeos in the case) and remedies.
