(07-) 1.6 Petrol - Headlight Leveling Switch - MrWednesday
All,
Just picked up a new 207SW, and while everything seems great, when parking in the dark tonight, I noticed that the console illumintation for for the Headlight leveling switch appears to remain illuminated after leaving the car, and locking it.

Does anyone else have similar symptoms? Is this the first of my electrical gremlins?

Probably; the BSI [body computer] does have a run-down time before it goes to sleep, so does the light go off after about 20 minutes?

Screwloose, thanks for the suggestion.

I checked last thing last night, and the light had gone. There does seem to be many mentions of 'economy' mode in the manual with reference to electrical devices on the vehicle, and they have a magic number of thirty minutes, so I'm going to assume that when the 30 minute timer is on, the light is shown at the leveler switch. (It is by far the most obvious location on the dash as no other switches / dials are near it.)

I should know better than to worry about everything but when it's fresh and new I always fret.

If anything changes or seems untoward, I will update my findings for any other 207 owners.

"Economy mode" is something rather different. If the battery voltage falls below a pre-programmed level, all non-essential items [like windows] stop working until the engine restarts, the alternator charges and the BSI gets engine rev info.

If your little light went off OK, then that's when the BSI went to sleep and I wouldn't worry about it - under no circumstances try and fix it....
