Mk3 2.2tdci vs MK4 2.0tdci - tags
Job change means I have got to hand back my current Mondeo 2.2TDCi and order a new company car. I love the shape of the new Mondeo and believe that it is the only workhorse for mega mileage. Time will not allow me to wait for the new 2.2TDCi, so will have to order a new 2.0, has anyone got comparative experience and I am going to find the new car gutless? Not worried about burning tyres at junctions, but more interested in whether it will pull as well up steep hills and blast past slow moving LGVs as my current one does.

Well it's not going to be as fast as it's 15BHP and 45lbft (ish) down and hauling a bigger body.

But the 2.0TDCi in our C-Max (which is essentially the same) shoves it along very nicely, so I would think the new Mondeo will be more than adequate.

The new Mondeo has a much nicer cabin than the old so you'll enjoy that more.

Why don't you get a 320D if you need more welly.

I think you might find the 2.2 is out in March although only in Titanium X spec
