I wonder who owns the de Dion name?
'Cute as a Bouton' so to speak.
I suppose the RR Phantom wasn't continuous in production terms. But they never made many of them anyway, especially in recent years. I doubt if that last pause, between RR proper and BMW, was the only pause in the models's continuity actually, although it may have been the longest. I don't suppose they sold many between 1929 and 34.

Wonder if the VW Beetle is in with a shout? Seem to think they still made the old ones in South America somewhere until recently? Or was "Beetle" just a nickname maybe and wouldn't count?
Beginning to wonder why I am wondering about this.......................;-)

I think some of you have missed this from my post above
Morgan 4/4 70th anniversary
www.carpages.co.uk/morgan/morgan-70th-anniversary-...p
Quote
"There are many motor manufacturers who can claim 70 years of continuous production, but it is only the Morgan Motor Company who can make this claim with the same model!
Launched back in 1936 the Morgan 4/4 remains in full production today. To celebrate this unique achievement, the Morgan Motor Company has unveiled a special model. "
Dated Jan 2006 - so now 71 years production of the Morgan 4/4

Officially the Volkswagen Type 1 commonly known by its nickname of Beetle in Europe or Bug in the US. As far as I know only the new Beetle is an official VW name.
