01 1.8 SE - Changing a sidelight. - almera-inthesky
Hello to all:

I'm having a problem changing the sidelight (parking light) on my Nissan Almera 1.8 SE, 51 reg; the N16, I believe it is.
The sidelight bulb sits in a separate little holder of its own (not in with the headlight bulb). According to the instruction manual, removing the holder is a simple matter of turning anti-clockwise and pulling. I can get a little bit of turning on the holder, but it doesn't loosen at all (and I've put a fair bit of pulling/prising force on it).
Has anyone had experience of changing this kind of Almera sidelight? (I think later model put the sidelight in with the headlight, under a rubber cap; mine doesn't).

Nissan wiring uses wire gauge which is too thin, migh save on cost and weight but it's a pain when it snaps. I'm no brontosaurus and I treat things with respect but in the end things get broken because they are not tough enough in normal use. Bad one, Nissan! Nice engine though!
