1996 1.8 petrol - immobiliser problem - steele
can you help please? immobiliser has become permanently on can not start car

Mine did that - hack it open and by-pass it with a couple of spade connectors.

If key change does not solve this, try switching on the ignition, then disconnect battery negative terminal for 30 seconds. Reconnect and try a restart. May reboot the on board electrics. An AA trick a helpful chap once showed me...
