98 1.1 engine cut out in bad weather. - menorca

Every time it rains hard,my 1998 Saxo i.i x cuts out at low revs when approaching junctions,roundabouts etc.
My garage cannot find the fault.
It restarts after a minute or two and behaves normally afterwards.

HELP !
May I have anyone's advice?

Assuming that it's not cold enough to cause icing in the single-point injection; then water ingress into the crank position sensor, or the oxygen sensor plug, is a possibility.
