Hi all,
Screwloose, I hope you read this thread :0)
Okay, 2001 A4 tdi 74kW B6 (newish shape) Code: AVB
My wifes car has developed a slight stutter when driving at lower rev's..i.e
Pull of in first (ok) if you change into second and the rev's drop to around 1900/2000rpm then she holds back for a second then goes.....same difference in third.....it can also be felt a little in fourth if picking up.....t does seems to 'go' if you drive for a while......
I have read a couple of threads about a relay somewhere, but any help is very much appriecated.......
(Screwloose fyi: fixed the VW passet thanks ;0))
Thanks you all for any thoughts...
Cheers
H

Nice to know the overboosting[?] Passat is fixed - if you get a mo, finish off the thread for future searchers.
[I'd like to know WIW too.]
I doubt that this is an engine control relay issue. As a mainly cold effect; it could be a coolant temp sensor over-reading. [Not nice to get at on an AVB.....]
Other possibles - and it's an uncommon fault - are; an injector; the injector loom; the brake pedal switch; accelerator position sensor/switch; EGR valve; lift-pump - or even the good old MAF.
If you get your Vag-Com plugged-in and have a check through that list; we might be able to eliminate a few.

I have plugged in VAG........only one code was shown, coolant temp intermittent earth......I have forgotten the actal code, will need to plug her in again....
I did check the MAF sensor reading etc..they were all spot on (i.e desired 'vs' actual) even the coolant temp looked okay....
Why is is not nice to get a coolant temp over reading on my AVB?
We need to go out now for the day, will look at the car tomorrow...I hope the car will be okay to drive...soon find out...
she is due a CAM belt etc this weekend so most prob see to her then...
10:4 on the passet issue, will finish thread..yes overboosting......

So you've got a coolant temp code..... Interesting... Your memory seems even worse than mine - write it down!
"Not nice to get.. AT.. on an AVB." [Down the back corner - well buried.]
