51 Left rear fog light problem - almera-inthesky
hi all:
I have a 51 reg nissan almera se 1.8

the left-hand rear fog light isn't working (although right hand one is). I've changed the bulb, but still it doesn't work. I've put a volt meter across the contacts for the fog light, but it read zero, and the contacts don't seem dirty/oxidized.

what should I check out next?

cheers

left rear fog light problem - Screwloose

There's a very good possibility that it isn't wired. Many cars only have a fog-light on the off-side. That's all that required for the MOT.

Check the colour of the wire going to the track for the fog-light on the other side and see if there's one on the N/S the same - and if it's live.

Having two fog-lights would be a big improvement.

Blimey, you learn something new everyday. I'll check the wiring tomorrow, but I think it's a case of problem solved, or dissolved,

My '53 Almera only has a rear fog-light on the off-side.
The same position on the near-side is the reversing light.

VW have the same system. Their philosophy is that a single rear fog
light is less confused with two brake lights.
Back up into the High Peak mist for two more days before Hogmanay.
