Can anyone recommend something to spray/paste on to remove carbon from tricky areas (EGR valve!) which won't like scraping?

I have used the time-honoured aluminium scraper for a quarter of a century, on everything from a Puch Maxi moped to a Triumph Bonneville, but some things can't be scraped, I guess.

Rob,

I use carb cleaner and a toothbrush to do this type of cleaning job.

Spray de-coker seems to disolve carbon.
