2001 - Water on the inside of the rear window - Lou_O
Hi,

My accord hatchback (2001) has suddenly started to get condensation on the inside of the rear window which is now freezing in the cold weather.

Where are the most likely places it's getting in from? I can't see any obvious locations.

Cheers,

Lou

Sprinkle Talcum Powder around the seals of the rear window. Blast the car with a hose and then look & see where the talcum has run/been removed.

The leak could be in the boot and the water vapour is condensing on the nearest window.

That's a great tip, I'll try it tomorrow.

Hot tip from FB! I have heard of vaseline being used in the same way to spot a leak. Is there a lot of water in the boot - are the carpets wet and the spare wheel well wet? If so it might be coming up thru a fault in the floor, rather than down from a faulty hatch seal.

The rest of the boot is bone dry, I think it's more condensation than a leak.

I'll keep an eye on it as since I posted there have been no problems :)

Look in the sides and back corners of the boot, under the carpet and behind the trim (if possible) before you decide it is bone dry.
