Hi, hope someone can help with this problem.
The blower in my laguna II 2002 1.6l is zoned for driver side and passanger. the driver side stopped heating last week but the other side works fine. I dont think its the A/C unit, as this works normally on the passanger side also. The fans still work (although a bit slow to start up).
Hopefully someone out there could help PLEASE!!!!! I dont want to take it to a garage incase its something I could fix myself..

Suggest you get the pollen/cabin filter relpaced first.

Will try that and see what happens.
Thanks. i'll get back and let you know how I get on.

Is this the one with the digital control panel? They seem to fail quite a lot and the whole panel/controler needs to be changed

Yes the control is digital. but its only happening on the driver side. fan speed control, direction control, rear heater, max and A/C all working fine. Just no heat on driver side.

Hi, I know its been a while since this was accessed last, but I've got to give it a try. I too have the same problem as you with respect to the heating on the driver side. I am interested in finding out how you resolved your heating. Its beginning to become a problem and the ?600 replacement digital control panel sounds a little steep. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Have you managed to sort the heating problem. I have the exact same proble and would like an idea of how to repair for approaching the garage?

No joys on the heating problem yet. One renault garage would NOT comment on the cause of the problem with out a diagnostic(money) but hearing between the lines they knew exactly what was wrong. The aim, to get me in the door and then rip my car apart and charge me approx ?1500 afterwards. Another decent Renault garage down country knew also the problem and simply told me it was a dashbord out job and it would cost ?100-?1500. He advised to let the car go during the summer!!!! My solution, head to Maplin electronics and purchase a ?12 ceramis dash mountable(removable) heater. If the conditions require it, I whip it out(the heater that is!!!) and in a couple of seconds it removes the mist/fogging on the drivers side. I only need to use it every now and then as conditions require. A most cost effective solution I'd say. ANd judging by the amount of people whom I taked to who all knew of somebody with similar air/heat problems in various cars I'd guess that the manufacturers are dropping the reliability standard a tad!!! Office of consumer affairs said to take them to small claims court for the repairs(up to ?2000) Good luck with yours though.

Thanks very much for your reply...... I agree that Renault seem to begetting away with these low standards since most people do nit have the money nor knowledge to take this further.
Thanks again

Sorry people, I have been away for a while!
Yes I got the problem solved if somewhat by sheer luck. The battery needed replacing on the car, so I went to a motor factors, bought a new one and fitted it myself. Turned the car on and Hey Presto!! the heater worked again. I can only guess that thwere wasnt enough power in the battery to power all of the heating system.
