W(2000) HDi - Air Bag Light - ap306
Dear All,

The amber Air Bag light on my dash has started flashing. Is there a method to bypass this or is there something special i need to do?

Is there something wrong with the air bag deployment system?

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance

Often mentioned on this forum. Find the connection blocks under the front seats and fiddle about with it - this is often sufficient. Some people have been known to solder the wires together.

If you want to do a forum search to see what others have put, use the link on the top right and enter - say - "306 airbag" for the message body and >1 year for the time period. You'll get plenty of results!

Hope this helps.

ap

That means that the airbag/restraint system is non-functional due to a fault.

With the ignition off; undo and clean the contacts of the yellow plugs under the front seats with electrical contact cleaner. [WD40 at a pinch.]

If that doesn't sort it; get it plugged-in at a garage and the airbag fault codes read.
