Nice looking motor - I just hope this isn't another Jag showcase car where they show the world what they CAN build but never actually do. At least the underpinning is current tech (near enough) so they have a head start.

Well tasty in a Phil Vickery sort of way, redolent of a body builder who'se taken it one 'roid too far. Still, no doubt there'll be oodles of double glazing company directors in West Bromwich who'll find it irresistible, bless. The last good lookibg Jag was the XJ6 series 111, imho.

A radical departure from the looks of the old XJ and just what Jaguar needs. The current XJ is still a good looking car with brilliant dynamics but Jaguar really needs this image overhaul if it wants to shake off the "old-persons car" image and attract a new breed of buyers.

Thankfully they appear to be keeping the good bits (chassis, ride and handling) and stepping up the ante with new technology, updated engines and interior.

I'm not a massive fan of the front end, it just looks somehow out of place but then I think the XK looks better than the XF and the current XJ looks perfectly good to me as well...

Presumably Ford just shifted some designers from Volvo to Jaguar and then gave them some exotic substance before they started work.
Presumably that dreadful nose is designed to vanish if it comes into contact with a luckless pedestrian.
Ugh!

Stunning.

I want one. Now.

Strangely no rear-end view, I would have liked a full 360 tour, looks like it might be light on the back-end with all that wieght up front, especially as its RWD.

It's a confident bit of work which to me makes it much better than the rather timid efforts in the X & S Type along with the first XK8 we ended up with. I'm not quite sure it should be quite so muscular around the front though, Jags have always been more sinewy and lithe, but overall it's a good piece of work and is way more stylish than that tugboat from Munich.

Handsome but exaggerated and brutal looking, like some Aston Martins and the current Bentley, but more extreme than either. Something about the giant wheels and low roofline. Of course perhaps the pic is just an artist's impression?

Two questions: will it live up to those looks or be blown off the road by fast Audis? And will anyone (other than Blue of course who has placed his order) want to be seen in it?
new Jaguar XJ - Blue {P}
I strongly doubt that I'll be the only one who wants to be seen in that! :-)

I bet it will attract more attention thatn the Pontiac Solstice I was getting driven around in today!

I guess Jaguar must be more rattled by the Chrysler 300C than they care to admit.
I also suppose that the people who end up with one (if anyone ever does) will be people smitten only by the looks and not spending their own money.
