1998 1.8 LX - Rear suspension problems - John Mac
Hi guys,
Just started experiencing problems with the rear suspension on my 98-1.8i petrol LX, it wont go up. I've checked the fluid it's O.K. and have checked the rear connector it's in tact but seemed to be stiff, sprayed on tons of wd40 but don't know how much movement there should be on the pivot going into the valve. Can anyone help?

How do you mean won't go up? In normal use, or only when you put the manual lever to high? If the former then it might be possible to free the height corrector off, but it will probably need removing from the car to do so. If the latter then it's probably the manual lever on the side of the corrector seized up - it's only operated by a spring from the manual lever to if it's tight it will not move. This can be corrected with the car on ramps by moving the lever on the HC back and forwards till it frees off.
