It looks like I will have to replace my current Seat Altea for something larger. I have been looking about for something that will accommodate a baby seat and two adults in the back. The only car I can find at a decent price is the Passat, others like the Accord, Avensis and Octavia etc seem to be the same width as the Altea. I am really looking for either a saloon or estate but I am struggling to find a selection to look at?
Any ideas?

Hi, I have had 3 Scenics and what they do benefit from is that the 3 rear seats can all be moved forwards and backwards, unlike the Seat (I now have an Altea XL).
Now not sure if you could get baby seat and two adults in the Scenic, you would need to take a test drive to check.
However, instead of looking at the straight width, have a look at what flexibility you can get in that width ie with the 3 Scenic seats in different settings, then the shoulders will be at different levels as well if you see what I mean?
I know that as far as rear seats are concerned, the Xsara Picasso had 3 seats the same size whereas the middle seat in the Scenic is slightly smaller than the outside two.
As is often the case with child seats, the recommendation here is always to go and physically test it out. The Scenic seats are moulded and I found some of the kids seats fitted perfectly, others didn't.

Think the Peugeot 307 SW Estate also has 3 individual seats, not sure if the 407 does as well?
