New Citroen C5 - boxsterboy
Lovely looking car that makes the new Laguna seem even blander than it already did, and even makes the new A4 look a touch plain. But maybe a bit too generic for die-hard Citroen fans to call it a 'real' Citroen, especially as only the top models get hydro-pneumatics.

Good second hand buy 2009 onwards?

Looks pretty good to me. Though it looks more "mainstream" than the previous C5. The rear 3/4 reminded me of the current Audi A4. It may be my imagination but the new C5/Mondeo/Laguna etc seem more alike than their predecessors ever did.

I have a new outlook on French cars following the faultless performance of my 407 coupe. I have to say that looks very nice. Id have to prod and pull the interior to gauge quality, but I can't see it being any different from the Pug.

It's another one for me to consider in a a couple of years.

Looks good and as an ex Xantia owner I might be tempted one day. Sad to see that hydraulic suspension is only on the higher models. That looks like Citroen tip toeing away from it. And surely the development costs of two suspension systems doesn't make sense?

I'm fascinated by "additional light source". Does that mean a third headlight a la old Rover ('scuse the ignorance of the model number / name)? But hidden somewhere, as I can't spot it. Maybe there's a prize from Citroen for spotting it in the photos?

Says in the article that "A soft mode provides optimum comfort while a firmer mode delivers greater body control. A ?Sport? mode can also be selected for an even more dynamic ride."

HJ - Do you know if this choice of driving modes will be available on the manual, as currently the sport mode is on the auto only.

Personally, I think that making it available on the manual as well, which will always be the biggest seller in the UK, could make it a winner, as it may remove the age old critisism of the C5 as being too floaty - people can have floaty if they want but can otherwise as well.
