I've got a Focus (weezle) 1999. I've changed the belt on it a couple of times, thinking that it's a worn belt thats making the noise. It goes away for a couple of weeks then it returns. I think it maybe coming from the steering pump but I ain't sure. She has done about 107000 miles. What do you reckon?!!

No sure about you car, but at that mileage a water pump could be the culprit.
You could try one of the bottles of stuff to put in the water for this - not so much as a cure, but an indicator to see if it might be the pump.

Thanks Martin. I've changed the water pump within the last 10,000 miles......and the fuel pump......that cost a bomb!!!!! But it looks nice and clean!!!!

Watcha you lot,

Any idea roughly how much a drive belt tensioner is for my Wessle Focus. What a squeaky noise that makes!!!! Hopefully that will sort the orrible noise out!!
