New Forest > Falmouth - deepwith
Son has just announced he is going to take g/f to open day at University in Falmouth tomorrow (Saturday).
He wants to leave at 8 am - I have suggested the get up EARLY (if that is possible....) and leave very early so break the back of the journey before others are about.
Last time I went there were horrendous road works en route. Anyone know the present situation? Thanks.

I did my home in West Sussex via Poole to Falmouth 2 weeks ago, mid week with no problems at all.
IMO allow 4 hours using A31, A35, A30, A39.
Holiday traffic should be minimal, Truro may be a bit busy.
Hope you have a good trip to a lovely part of the country.

There were horrendous road works for several years on the stretch of the A30 around Bodmin and Indian Queens. However, this work was all completed during the summer and is now fully open with dual carriageway all the way through until you turn off for Truro.

Previously there was a stretch of single carriageway between Bodmin and Indian Queens and a roundabout at Bodmin which is where all the work was taking place. Now there is no roundabout and dual carriageway all the way. There were also some roadworks on the A30 around Okehampton which were all complete the last time I was up there which was about a month ago.

Hope you have a good trip.

Many thanks for the two replies . both helpful. The trip will now be at a later date as yesterday evening son fell down the stairs and injured his neck - fortunately not as badly as originally thought. Now he is minus the head and neck restraint and back board he is much happier! Few chipped bits off the bones but just needs rest and no driving for a while.
