Let's hope it's a better car than the Vx Frontera it's based on.

Wasn't that the car that scored "certain death to all passengers" in ADAC crash test?

From the article:

"Harrowing videos of the car hitting the block can still be seen on YouTube. ?It was a shock to the system,? said Paul Williams, managing director of Landwind?s European operation. ?But ADAC doing its worst was perhaps the best thing that could have happened.?

Williams says lessons were learned and predicts three NCAP stars in November. Prices for the X-Pedition will start at £10,000. "

Still a Frontera in a modified frock..

So come on Channel 5 and fifth gear.
How about a Landwind X-Pedition vs Renault Modus 40mph front offset test ?
Watch that sill mounted scaffold pole run right through the Modus...I wonder how the drivers shin bag will stand up to that ?

That's because it's almost exact copy of second generation Isuzu MU, rather than Frontera as we know it.

Might be OK, cheap and basic, well-evolved and well-honed old-tech.

With a probable 2500 kg tow weight I can see it appealing to the holiday-shed pulling fraternity. If they had any taste they wouldn't be pulling a shed, so a tad too much Oriental bling isn't going to put them off....

You should have seen the results when the first prototypes of the 94-02 Range Rover were crash-tested at Mira - much re-design and further testing was necessary before it went into production - I believe the strengthening poles had to go across the dashboard.
