Won't go into gear - jennyj
Clutch has been getting loose over last couple of days and then today started put clutch in but won't go into gear. I phoned a local dealer and they said it is probably the clutch and will cost £900 plus. However, I had a new clutch put in a year ago when same thing happened - could it be something simple? Please help I know nothing about cars!

It could be the clutch, or it could be the operating mechanism (cable or hydraulic, don't know about the Zafira). Assuming that the clutch was replaced with a new one (as opposed to a remanufactured one that a well known high street clutch chain may well use) then it's probably / possibly the operating mechanism. Either way it's not likely to be simple, and needs to go to a garage unfortunately - the operating mech may well be much cheaper than a new clutch though.

It could be the clutch slave cylinder which resides in the clutch housing I believe so just as expensive as getting at a worn clutch.
