The window had behaved perfectly until yesterday. Was sticky in both directions, and some slight mechanical graunching could be heard. Managed to raise it to within 2" of top. This morning had another go at it, and it would only lower. Now fully open.
Clues, suggestions? My local breaker normally has a 405 in stock....

Well, I'm no expert, but I have the same problem with my 405 and when I stripped the door lining off it turned out to be a snapped cable. The window sits on a carrier which the cable lifts up - if it's snapped the window will tend to sink as yours has. If the window motor is still working (can you hear it?), then it's just a question of replacing the cable etc.
