Picked up my new car yesterday and the only problem was a stiff boot lock which was sorted with a squirt of WD40. Had a nice long drive last night around the Pennines but on my way home I heard a "clunk" and then my engine wasn't giving the oomf it had before. Getting up hills was a struggle, putting my foot to the floor only got me as fast as 60 on a good incline and when idling the engine judders excessively.
Any ideas what this good be? My amateur deduction suggests maybe a block in the fuel line or something preventing the engine from firing on all cylinders.
Cheers if anyone can help!

The symptoms fit with running on only three cylinders. Many possible causes; but "clunks" are never welcome.
Take it back.

Cheers!
Just been up to the shops and back. The journey there had no problems but the journey back the problem arose again so I guess its back to the dealer. Just to put my mind at rest its up to the dealer to sort this out, seeing as its happened the same day I drove it off the lot?

www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/faq.htm?id=43 outlines the way ahead and your rights. You should be OK in the circumstances you describe
I hope it isn't the ex-Top Gear one!

That would explain the Jeremy Clarkson sized dent in the ceiling....
