The headlamp level switch & dashboard illumination (dimmer) control switches are a pair.
last night I noticed that they had moved inwards about 10mm, rendering them unusable.
Has anyone experienced this and found an easy way to rectify this ?
It appears they may have popped off of a retaining clip.

If the arrangement is the same as that on my Passat clone, you can access the back of these controls by pulling off the fuse box cover. The cover is on the "end" of the dashboard and is accessible when the driver's door is open.
