Hats off to the Italians... - Big Bad Dave
... for providing me with my own personal inside lane of the motorway from Rome to Pompeii and all the way back again. Nobody ever strayed into it, and I never had to stray out of it. Way to go guys, I must have undertaken half a million cars.

And what can I say about the charmless VW Polo I hired with its 33cc 8hp engine except that made getting back into a V6 a thousand times more pleasurable. The last time I had to drop down to third on a motorway to keep up with traffic I was driving a fully loaded Luton van.

And I clearly don't understand anything about the new way this site is set up because I didn't expect Volkswagen to appear in the title. {Now removed, but that's what happens if you select a make / model from the drop down list. DD}
