I was surprised to see Champion wiper blades (not refills) of all sizes for £1.25 at a large hardware store on Falmouth dock front - sorry, can't remember its name - similar price to Wilkos.

>>" + REDUCED AERODYNAMIC NOISE -3db COMPARED TO A STANDARD BLADE ( at 150 mph)."
IIRC my old physics teacher 'the human ear can just about detect a 3db change in volume'. So how do you detect a 3db change in the noise of a wiper blade from inside a car travelling at 150mph? Unless it's for the benefit of people outside the car.

You can get refills for Bosch Aerotwins, not sure about Valeo XTRMs that the Citroen has, I have these too, and I am yet to find that out.

"REDUCED AERODYNAMIC NOISE"
That's because, at 150 mph, they lift off the screen completely...
I'm currently using Lidl blades that cost about £4 a pair, complete. No problems, so far, and no discernible difference in effectiveness (below 150 mph, at least).

Trago Mills - "Your out of town store in town"
|
Nice to see Citroen is keeping up the old traditions.
30 years ago bits and pieces for the GS were jaw-droppingly expensive!

"bits and pieces for the GS"
But not so bad 15 years ago, when presumably everyone else had caught up.
I'd love a Birotor...

That's the place. Thanks for that ND2.

£78 for Audi A4 wipers. :-( :-( :-(
Company paid :-) :-) :-)
|
My A4 wiper set, about 6 weeks ago, were about £30. Were you charged for fitting as well? Or did the price include the arms?
Previously I had changed the rubbers, but they squeeked. I couldn't face a 500 mile journey in this summer's weather with them.

Company paid :-) :-) :-)
And eventually company's customers will have to pay, :-( :-( :-(
No wonder things cost so much in this country. Its all adding to the 'cost of doing business', isn't it?
|
I always used to buy branded wipers, Bosch or Valeo mainly, until on one occasion I needed a new set quickly as one of the rubbers had ripped.
£2 each from local cheap DIY shop. Proper metal blades, and they work just as quietly and with fewer streaks than the branded ones.
Too new to tell whether they last, but they've been on there now for four months and haven't deteriorated at all.
£40 or £50 for a set really is taking the michael.

I fully agree with you, but £39.99 seems to be the going rate for those blades. Who knows what they'd charge at a main dealer for the same things.
